My full name is Jodie Marie Anne Richardson Traugott.   I use my initials jm-ART and/or my tattoo of a star as my signature.   Although I never liked art through high school, I 'discovered' it in my early 20's and have never stopped creating since.Photography is my latest love, but I've been a painter for over 50 years.I consider myself a Renaissance woman with my hand in many disciplines and a love for all artistic ways and means.   Because of that, my work is all over the map...in style, medium and intent.   I look at that as a strength, not a weakness!   I will...more

Nana Paintings

These are a few of my Nana paintings; some available as prints only but a few originals are for sale. I have been painting Arianna, my granddaughter, (who called herself Nana) since she was 2; before that I had never painted a portrait, even though I had been painting for years. I was frightened of portraits. It took me two years of looking at that beautiful face to give in to my need to try and capture the spirit I saw emanating from her. Now, I can't stop! Some of these are straight portraits, some are paintings based upon my composite photos but all are true representations of the works, not digitally altered colors or effects unless noted in the descriptions. My Peace, my muse, my sunshine, my granddaughter. Arianna is my perpetual model for any sort of picture I want to do that expresses not only my feelings but hers. We bond, connect, share our souls.
