I will not tell you that I am a photographer, I may not say I am a professional. But I will say that I am an artist with a passion for photography and being creative with images.
I have become world known and I have a featured interview with Laura Carter from Laura Carter Art in Canada. She with my own featured page that gives a little insight on my passion for art and several of my pieces are featured on the page. You can see it here;
I am also a featured artist on a page in Australia by Blair Stuart at Stuart Media Services seen here http://www.stuartmediaservices.com/visual-artist-jim-fierro.html
More Recently I won a worldwide 'bird and ducks' photo contest. This contest had 902 other submissions and 346 members. I submitted 3 of my images and all three photos came in the top ten. I had one photo I won of a Wood Thrush, in fourth place is a Norther Flicker Woopecker and in seventh place was a photo of a White Egret sunbathing and grooming himself. This is my first ever worldwide contest win. http://fineartamerica.com/contests/open----all-birds-and-ducks.html?tab=leaderboard
I have also appeared in several new articles. I also am very active in the promotion of other artists and have my own facebook page for other artists and photographers. I also run a Google Plus Community for artists to help promot their work.
I am a Disabled Army Veteran who served 10 years in and am now fully disabled and retired a lot sooner than I wanted to be. I got medically retired in 2011.
I have a passion for photography and the preservation of history as it pertains to photography and am always looking for ways to improve my work. I would like our childerean to grow up and be able to see the world the way we did. I grew up listening to stories of the way things 'USEDTO BE', the way the stories were told to me made me travel back in time and see things in my mind the way the elders in my family wanted me to. Most of the time I was wishing I lived in that time to see what they seen. Thus is the reason for my photography, to preserve my generation through my photos. I also enjoy being creative and creating abstract art as well. I love to learn new ways to process photos and create a uniqueness to my work.
I have been into photography my whole life although I never had a good camera until 2008 and have been learning to master it ever since. I use profits from my sales to help my community. I donate to help schools, disabled and or homeless veterans and to other viable charities. I figure if I could use my passion and art to help out then why not.
