Orel Donan was born on April 16, 1977 in San Salvador, Capital of El Salvador. Orel’s work included watercolor, drawings, and collage. He won with collage pieces the First Prize in 2001, and the Third Prize in 2002 of the National Painting Award “Palmares Diplomat” in his native El Salvador. Orel began his formal studies in drawing and painting at the National Arts Center of El Salvador in 1994, before he continued his Plastic Art Career at the National University of El Salvador in 1998. In 2004 he traveled to Spain, to study the old masters in the Prado and Reina Sofia museums, in Madrid, and Dali Museums in Barcelona and Figueres among others. Since his returned to El Salvador in 2007, his work has been shown in his country and New Jersey. Orel divides his time between El Salvador and Madrid.
