Janet Pancho Gupta is a Hong Kong-based Filipino fine artist who is passionate about nature and wildlife. Her style of painting is more focused on details, bold colours and gauging intense emotions.
Initially I started off as a commission artist, sketching people in water colours and pencil. I still love people but I want the freedom to express subjects in my way to depict life and beauty. Since the last couple of years I have concentrated on painting nature. I love nature and its vastness and beauty in its own unique way. People often ask me what is my favourite subject and my answer is how can one choose one aspect when nature is so vast, infinite in a way.One cannot be a nature lover just because you love flowers or specific animals or mountains. Everything is connected for a certain purpose and therefore I embrace fully life and nature.
I call myself a nature artist cause of my faith in God and His creations and am also inspired by contemplating the meaning and purpose of life. Even though in life I have experienced pain and agony I choose to paint things which make everyone happy, be inspired and bring colours to life. Nowadays, the world is full of sadness, wars, deaths, hatred but I want to paint something that we all strive hard for; like love, happiness and peace. I want my work to be an instrument of something positive and lively. Life is so short and unpredictable, but to be able to share joy with others is very rewarding for me.
Her paintings are with collectors in Hong Kong, China, UK, the Philippines, India and United States.
