I am a full time artist from the U.K. specializing in peaceful and meditative paintings from a mystical and spiritual perspective. I am married to Simon Small, the well known author of the incredible mystical novel 'Star Pilgrim'. It explores profound questions about the meaning of life within a great story. Available from Amazon and all good bookstores on kindle or as printed copy.
My life is focused on being as present and as open as possible to the 'Mystery', and I am increasingly drawn to silence and solitude. I am therefore becoming a little less socially active on this site and apologize if I do not always respond to comments, but will continue to post and sell my art and writings which arise from the stillness.
I am not currently taking any orders for commissioned work as I am enjoying just painting whatever I feel like!
Many have told me that my paintings evoke a feeling of peace, comfort, hope, connectedness or enchantment. I am so grateful and fortunate to be able to share in this way.
I have exhibited art widely across the U.K. over the years, and also in Hawaii, with thanks to my fellow artist and outstanding painter of Hawaii land and seascapes, Alden Heglund.
My work has been used for book covers, brochures, magazine covers and articles. The latest interview about my art journey is in the beautiful U.S.art and culture magazine 'Musiety' in which my painting 'Glastonbury Abbey Lily Pool' features as the front cover.
Currently, my two main areas of expertise are in combining acrylic with pastel, and with painting in beeswax (encaustic). This explains why I have two very distinct styles. The pastel and acrylics involve an enormous amount of work. The encaustics are a more simple and chilled out way of working. I have developed my own unique methods and styles in each of these mediums.
