Hillary McAllister

Hillary's life long love of painting began at the age of eight when she attended classes with artist James Baker at the Art Barn in Greenwich, Connecticut. By age twelve, she started classes at the Art Student's League in New York City. Later, Hillary studied with the painter Edna Tacon, a student of Wassily Kandinsky. She now resides in Olympia, Washington after living in Southwest Texas, New Jersey and New York City.

Hillary attended college at Knox College, Illinois and and studied painting at Byam Shaw College of Art in London, England. After working
in the commercial photography field thru the Carl Duisberg Institute in Germany, Hillary continued in this field for several years both in Munich, Germany and New York. Switching careers, Hillary began working free-lance within the New York corporate world as well as running Van Vorst Art Gallery with her husband in Jersey City, New Jersey. Finally, she has returned full time to her first love: painting.

Hillary is a member of the Olympia Art League and New York Art Student's League . Her paintings are in private collections in the United States, France, Germany, Guatemala, Israel, Saudi Arabia and South Africa as well as N.Y.U. Medical Center, N.Y.
