I love what I do. It's what I've done since I was a small child.
I watch. I listen.
And life unfolds it's magic right before my eyes.
It's all about the eyes that do the looking.
I have spent many years as a communications specialist and worked for 20 years in human relief and development in developing countries.
Now I have the privilege of painting, sketching, writing, and photographing the perspectives I would like to share with the world. I study my craft hours every day, as I started later and have of catching up to do. Art has a magic to it, that compliments my speaking world, in fact, has become the foundation for it: 'Eyes that look are common, but eyes that see are rare'.
Africa has been a dominant part of my life for many years and I have an African Gallery where 50% of all proceeds go to F.R.E.E - an organization in Zambia for the empowerment of economic self sufficiency for women. Feel free to contact me for references. You can see there website here http://realizationofempowerment.org/
I love painting abstracts because they take on the nature of the viewer.
I love painting illustrative because they allow my humor to dance into view.
I love the whimsy, because it touches sensitive hearts and inspires.
African Pots is a warm piece depicting the colors I am so familiar with in Africa.
I live in Vancouver BC, although I am an American from Colorado. I travel for work and pleasure, live with a Golden Retriever who is my pride and joy, am the proud mother of two, mother-in-law and love to another two, grandmother to 4. I am single, sassy, and ready for the experiences life, except on Friday nights when I eat pizza, drink wine and snuggle with a movie and my golden girl puppy.
