Resident Falkland Islands, reared in Britain, this sp. finds winter inhospitable and migrates with partner to France, generally departing late April and returning in time to plant the vegetable garden in early October.
Been involved in painting for the last 12 or so years, and started to sell some work. First solo exhibition was in Stanley Falkland Islands in 2012. Currently have an exhibition running in London until early September at the Falkland Islands Government Office.
Subjects vary and I find it very hard to classify them, except to say they range from Landscape, Portrait, Animals, Machinery, Funny Old Junk - in fact whatever takes the eye at the time. My style at this point is basically realist, figurative painting, but not photo-realistic - I am aiming for a more painterly, free way of making the paintings that still reflect the subject, whatever that may be, or at least the aspect that I have 'seen'. At this time I'm working mainly in pastel, oil and various drawing media, in various sizes.
My website www.driftwood-studio.net has most of my work on it but I will be posting images on here too.
