I have been taking pictures most of my life. At family functions and during my travels, I was always the one with the camera or someone would hand me a camera and say, 'You take better pictures than I do. I chop off their heads!'
I started taking photography more seriously about seven years ago when my husband surprised me with a Nikon D70 DSLR digital camera. He passed away a month after that. Several months later, I joined our local camera club, The Blue Water Shutterbug Club. www.bwshutterbugs.org I am now club president. I have photographed weddings, baby showers, senior portraits as well as going to local craft shows to sell my photographs of nature and things I find interesting.
Photography has shown me the beauty and wonder our planet has to offer. I love to travel and recently visited Colorado and took some great pictures! Some of my best work has been done right in my own back yard here in Michigan. Michigan has some wonderful places to photograph. I love old barns and lighthouses! Michigan has both items in great abundance. In my 'bucket list' I want to take pictures of every lighthouse in Michigan. I have photographed most of the lighthouses located on Lake Huron.
