For me, photography gets me out of my mental and physical rut. For photography, and not much else, I'll be out of bed well before dawn, crouch on a sand dune on a muggy summer dawn waiting for the sun to come up over the ocean, freeze on a windy shoreline waiting for just the right light around the lighthouse, get eaten by bugs waiting for the heron to fly, or wait patiently for the fisherman to move to a better place (hopefully for him and me).
