Gothic And Crows Art Photography

I always had photography in my life. My dad was a professional photographer and we grew up with a dark room in the basement and a studio in our living room. It just feels natural to be working with photographs. Most of my photographs are altered with textures to give them a different feel, while some are untouched. I use both film and digital cameras and my computer acts as my dark room. I have sold my pictures at art fairs, stores and on line for several years.

Many of my photographs are from cemeteries and old buildings because they are plentiful where I live and I love to rummage around in them. They provide a never ending source of material to photograph and it's fun and so interesting to explore these cool pieces of days gone by. The graveyard wildlife is fascinating, you wouldn't think there would be much, but I can't tell you the number of furry and feathered creatures that reside in the otherwise empty urban wilderness. Occasionally I get out to the rural scene and find old barns or maybe some cows, but the majority of my time is spent in the city. I'd love to move out to wide open spaces, but for now I must make do with my own environment as unpleasant and imperfect as it may be.

I also care deeply about the treatment of animals and support local animal groups in my area. I have several pets that were once in dire straights, they are now part of my family and inspire me everyday.
The number of feral cats in the United States is estimated at over 40 million, most of these cats live a painful short life, please support spay and neuter programs.
♥I very much support the humane treatment of feral cats. They have to fight the elements and cruel people daily, they are only trying to survive like everyone else!
