Born into an encouraging family has kept my natural bent for art alive and well. My love of drawing sailed right along with having a family, as I would learn to draw quickly to match 2 boy's attention spans. This quickness vs realism has been my style through the years. Colorful expressive action has been my joy. I remember holding my first newborn on my knees, gazing into his eyes, saying that I would always be an artist, never having to leave them and that I would never have to retire.
Always being an artist held true but becoming a working mom did happen, limiting my art to sketchbooks full of small children. Now they are grown. Discovering Fine Art America has given me a venue to show my work, created during years of coordinating life drawing sessions and Art & Spoken Word events called THURSDAY GIG.
Lately I've expanded into drawing wild horses and a few landscapes. Horses are powerfully expressive and full of energy, Landscapes include cars and fences I see from my drive-by vantage point.
I paint for myself but hope the viewer becomes engaged as well. Comments from everyone are welcome, whether negative or positive. Tthey let me know whether I have accomplished my goals.
