I am a third generation artist, tutored by my father in my early years and self-taught later on. My formal art education began in secondary and
high school, as well as college. My studies included general art courses, design, painting and art history.
My work has appeared in student exhibits, juried regional and national shows, as well as a private show of my own.
Several of my paintings are now in private collections.
I am fascinated by the process of painting to create illusions of space and depth. The most appropriate label for my work would be
trompe-l'oeil, my purpose being to elicit an emotional response from the viewer.
I love nature and because I live in a rural area, I am exposed to it daily.
I have owned horses for many years, and have loved them since childhood. This continual opportunity for study is
reflected in my equine works, where capturing the magnificence, power and beauty of horses is a challenge I relish.
As with my landscape paintings, daily contact with my subject matter reinforces my familiarity with them.
As I continue to create art, I am challenged by the limitless possibilities for subject matter and mediums.
I invite you come in and enjoy my work, as I continue to add new pieces.
