The world is a vast place full of mystery, beauty and richness that is often overlooked in our busy lives. Doug notices these vignettes of composition and light from the ordinary to the spectacular. Often times, the ordinary is the spectacular. The philosopher Marcel Proust summed up what photography is to him when he said, “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.'
Doug is drawn to photography because he enjoys capturing these vignettes which are more beautiful through the lens than in reality. Finessing these images into his own vision and creating photographic artwork is his passion.
As a self-taught photographer, Doug began his creative pursuits in 2000. Since then, he has grown in regard to his craft and has traveled the world. Travel has given Doug an appreciation of how vast and diverse the world is. Photography allows him to connect to the world and engage with others.
From the time Doug captures the image to the final print, he takes great pride in his work. His goal is to produce artwork that people connect with and will enjoy viewing every day. Doug hopes his artwork captures your attention and helps the viewer appreciate the elements of art & design in each finished piece.
