As an artist I have worked in many mediums that I loved. It was difficult to find one I could call my own until I discovered watercolor batiks. Batik is an ancient technique from India of dying silk using a process of multiple layering of melted wax as a resist and dyes to create beautiful designs. I use a similar technique where I do multiple layers of soft watercolor paints and melted wax on un-sized transparent rice paper.
