Donna Newsom

Born in Orlando, FL, in 1961, Donna fell in love with art in kindergarten! She attended primary, middle and Jr. High school in FL, Mexico, Texas, Guatemala, and graduated from Duncanville High School and the Art Institute of Dallas in TX. Her career began in Dallas, TX, after high school, working for the year book company, Taylor Publishing Co.. While attending art school, she began to free lance as a product and editorial illustrator for newspaper ads and stories. Upon graduation from AI, Donna's work as a commercial artist grew to include children's book illustration, more editorial illustration for a major Dallas newspaper and an invitation to return to Guatemala for a two year assignment illustrating primers and producing newsletters for literacy teams.
Returning to Dallas, TX, from Central America, Donna began pursuing a career in advertising as a production artist/illustrator. Her career moved into the digital age of the Mac and Adobe design software, opening more creative avenues to learn and explore.
As the economy slowed over the last several years, so has Donna's career as a commercial artist. She is taking these changes in stride toward new opportunity to explore her creativity as an artist. Donna's friends tell her she makes people feel loved, she sees the best in people. She truly does love others as herself, because of Christ's great Love for us, and she wants to serve and participate more in people's lives.
Donna says of herself she thinks too much sometimes, and usually just keeps going and being and doing, trusting God to direct her path and to do the next right thing in front of her. She values her friends more valuable than anything, and she looks forward to sharing visions of a glorious the future.
