I was born 1978 in California, USA. In the year 2000, I graduated with a degree in Marine Biology. Since then I have been dedicated to learning, experiencing, and educating about the marine environment. Although I have been diving around the world for more than 15 years, my first time using an underwater camera was only 4 years ago. Since then I have been inspired by the beauty and magic found beneath the surface of the ocean and I seek to capture it with the lens of a camera.
I focus on capturing those subjects and moments that 'take your breath away.' Through these moments and images it is my hope that people may discover or rediscover our deep connection with the ocean. This connection is necessary in compelling those to preserve this unique environment for generations to come.
As an emerging underwater photographer, I have recently been the winner of the Mares Photo Contest 2012 and a finalist in the annual Underwaterphotography.com 2012 Photo Contest. I have also made contributions to Sport Diver Magazine, Shark Diver, Diver UK, and others.
It's the mystery, magic, beauty, and abundance of life that draws us to the ocean. May these images beyond the 'blue door', expand your ocean awareness and inspire you to find your connection with it.
