Daniela was the first Palermo woman to win the Miss Italy competition in 1966. Having studied Art in school, Daniela has always painted as a hobby even as she pursued a career as a movie actress. As a creative personality she has dabbled in various activities, including that of a freelance journalist, publishing articles in Italian and foreign newspapers and magazines.
Today she unveils works of a different nature for the first time. She felt the need to provide glimpses of some of the sights of old Palermo and its province: places that cry out to be seen in a new light. Daniela’s style is immediate, without too many details or mannerisms, perhaps a bit violent, but effective just the same.
Unlike her other paintings, which were expressed in a very personal language, these paintings aim to awaken dormant feelings in the observer where the present meets the past.
