DALE ZIEGLER
Although Dale has worked in many media, watercolor remains his favorite. Living and painting in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, he is best known for his interpretations of the surrounding lush farmlands and the local Amish community. He describes himself as a regional artist, painting what he loves and knows best. He works in the traditional watercolor manner, - - a direct approach, with luminous, transparent colors.
After three years of army service in W.W.II, he studied at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art (now the University of the Arts) He first worked for R.R.Donnelley, in Lancaster as a graphic designer, and then served for eighteen years, as Corporate Creative Director for U.S.Tobacco, in Greeenwich, CT.
His work has been exhibited for many years in juried shows in New York, Connecticut, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Illinois. Dale is a prizewinning, signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Baltimore Watercolor Society, and the Philadelphia Water Color Society.
