Charles is an artist with a studio and gallery at 3264 Main St., Route 6A, Barnstable, Cape Cod, Massachusetts called Harden Studios. He has 20 plus years of full-time art and design experience. His art studies include two years at Providence College and five years at Massachusetts College of Art where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in both Printmaking and Graphic Design. He also has had additional training at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and interned with award-winning etcher Carol Travers Lummus. Both Charles’ parents received art degrees from Parson’s School of Design in NYC. Charles is an artist member of the Cape Cod Art Association and the Provincetown Art Association. He worked primarily as an etcher, and also in watercolors, photography, pastels, and woodcarving, but since having children he now focuses mainly on photography.
Professional highlights include participation in numerous (50 plus) shows around New England with many awards. Interviews and artwork published in newspapers and magazines including Cape Arts Review, Cape Cod Life, Boston Globe, etc. Cover photo for Cape Cod Life Magazine. Etchings in private collections around the world as well as corporate collections. Created art and photography for the interiors of 3 Boston area restaurants. Most recent projects include working with a top Boston design firm for interior artwork/photography for luxury homes from Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard to South Florida.
