I am a British-born Israeli artist.
1962 - 1964 Foundation Course in Art at Bradford Art College, U.K.
1964 - 1968 B.A. in Painting and Printmaking at Maidstone College of Art, U.K.
1968 - 1969 Teacher's Postgraduate Certificate in Art and Design, Leeds University, U.K.
1969 - 2006 Art Teacher positions in London and other areas. The last teaching job that I had was in a Junior School working with young children.
2006 - Working as an artist in Israel.
My art has a Jewish theme, and much of it focuses on Jerusalem.
I work from my sketches and experiences, trying to capture the movement and activity of people and events. I especially enjoy painting the Jewish Chaggim (Festivals), including Purim and Passover.
I aim for my work to be fresh, focusing on modern Jewish life in Israel, and never nostalgic.
I love to use colour, and work in both oils and watercolours. However, I also enjoy lino cutting and printing my blocks in black and white. I enjoy the contrast of the intense Israeli sunlight with the darkness of the rainy winter skies. I enjoy the bright colours that some people wear contrasting with the blacks and whites that others wear.
I love to study the many different kinds of Jewish people and include them in my art.
I have been selling my work through my website, and art fairs and am beginning to exhibit my work in galleries.
