I am a 20 year old, self taught, professional wildlife artist with an undending passion for nature. I grew up on my parent's 128 acre farm, most of which is untainted woodlands, where nature is untouched and free. I learned to respect and love nature and all animals, even those most people reject. Ever since I could hold a pencil I drew the many animals I lived with and from there my career came to life. With a supportive family I used my time to develop my skill of my own free will. In school everyone recognized my talent and thier praise fueled my passion even more.
After I graduated Trinity High School in 2006, I decided to take up wildlife painting after the senior project introduced me to it. I painted four murals at my high school and soon discovered my dislike for large art - so I practiced on small canvases. Of course, I painted animals. I went to the John C. Campbell Folk School for three weeks for basic training and then I decided to take a leap and start my artistic career.
I now own the business 'Art from the Heart' in which I specialize in animal painting and art. I strive to use my art as a teaching tool - to teach the world the unending beauty and importance of all animals big, small, cuddly, and creepy. I am experienced in many mediums from paint, computer graphics, pencil, colored pencil, ink, sculpture, and beyond. I hope to sell prints of my work to people the world over and, when I am successful, I wish to use the money to help all animals and nature last for generations to come. In a sense, I would like to do as my parents have done to make the world a better place for animals and us all - buy land and preserve it, save animals and nuture them.
