After spending several years working in Mobile, AL Brenda recently moved back to Southern California and married her high school sweetheart. Brenda is an artist, author, motivational facilitator, and a full-time student working on a Ph.D. in Psychology. She has a master's degree in business administration (MBA), and a bachelor's degree in English.
In addition to her artwork and writing she has experience in the publishing & PR industry. Brenda has served as an instructor for self-esteem workshops, a counselor for sexual assault survivors, coordinator for a children's planning council, and a member of the board of directors for a children's museum.
Brenda has created a fresh uniquely original medium she calls 'poetry painting'. The painting itself is a wonderful blend of vivid colors using acrylics in an abstract form. It is not a literal representation of the subject matter but rather a more complex representation; the colors themselves convey profuse meaning.
Her 'poetry paintings' blend vivid colors in abstract form; the work being not a literal representation of the subject matter but rather a more complex representation; the colors themselves convey profuse meaning. The poetry and/or motivational prose i.e., words of wisdom is the essence of the art, its breadth, and its life whereas the painting is the vehicle, the means of transport by which to provide the viewer with both the perception and the expression.
