I've loved the art of photography as far back as I can remember. I think it all started as my family would sit in the dark living room and watch as my Father projected slides he had taken in the Mediterranean while serving in the navy in the late 1960's. I remember my Grandfathers teaching me to use the cameras of the early 1970's, an old TLR and the amazing Polaroid!
In the end I chose my love of cars, and became an auto mechanic, but never lost my intrigue with photography. I always had a camera, and took pictures at any event I attended. I remember saving money to buy film (and flash bulbs)! I remember having rolls of film waiting until I had enough money to develop them.
In the early 1990's I acquired my first 35mm SLR (used) with several lenses. I was in Heaven, but my shutter finger was faster than my wallet!- 'nuff said.
At that time, digital was a new technology. I followed eagerly, but digital cameras were toys and novelties. I still remember reading the article in Popular Photography Magazine that concluded that digital photography was a fad, and would never rival film.
Years passed, and my picture taking took a back seat. Then a spark hit and I discovered Photoshop and NAPP ( National Association of Photoshop Professionals). I discovered that todays digital cameras, and software has rivaled, and surpassed film!
I currently spend my free time shooting Nikon DSLRs, and using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I'm hooked! I blend my photos with my love of nature, wildlife, cars, aviation, and abstract art.
I hope you enjoy my work, as it truly comes from my heart.
