I love photography. Although I've never taken a class, I believe Trial and Error are the best teachers, and that's how I've learned on my own along the way. It helps that I love being outdoors and have an obsession with the amazing details God poured into Nature. I capture my images with a Canon full-frame DSLR and several specialty lenses, as well as a Nikon DSLR (5300). I also create art on a Wacom Intuos graphics tablet using an art stylus and various brushes in Corel Painter. Sometimes a piece will begin with a photo, which I coax into a watercolor painting, but often it's just a blank digital canvas and layers of paint and textures.
Before I took up art, I spent 30+ years working for both mainstream and inspirational publishers writing books, curriculum, greeting cards, columns (Newsday), and articles.
My 21 years as a military wife fed my love for travel and adventure. We lived six years in Germany and in three regions of the U.S., eventually settling in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. I enjoy camping, gardening, travel, photography, and cooking. Nick and I have been married forty-three years and are proud parents of a son and daughter who live in the area, plus four precious grandchildren who keep us young(er). Life is sweet and I feel very blessed!
