Self taught artist

Originally from the art rich community of Montreal, Canada, I have lived in Florida for the past 10 years. Painting used to be a down-time hobby, however, passion for the creative side and the drive to learn has taken the art into a full time career. My primary focus has been to paint like the Masters and the Group of Seven. In this regard I have followed the techniques of Stepehn Quiller, a master of color. In regard to structure I study the theories of Alberti and other sources such at the Metropolitain Museum of Arts teachings.

Each painting has a purpose or meaning, be it to catch the feeling of a certain scene or simply caputre the depth in structure and color in a way that draws one into the painting. Initial media was watercolor and for the past 4 years I have focused on Oil. My current focus is now in mixing my own colors from pigment as opposed to the tube. I also focus on all aspects of prepping and finalizing a painting in order that it has the same quality against time, (archival value).
