My love of art began with drawing at an early age and has developed over the years. I paint in many mediums but I love the wonderful experimental process and many challenges of watercolor and mixed media. My work ranges from realism to abstract and sometimes non-objective. Even with a subject in mind, my intuition takes over and evolves as I paint.
My training includes Auburn University at Montgomery, AL, private lessons, and workshops. I have studied with nationally known artists and instructors including Edgar Whitney, Charles Movalli, Barbara Thelin, Tony Couch, Robbie Laird and Zoltan Szabo. My work is shown throughout the southeast and in private collections. I have won numerous awards in juried shows and events. I am currently teaching two adult art classes and painting on commission.
My personal experiences and emotional responses to the natural beauty and wonder of our world inspire me to constantly experiment and try new methods. I hope my viewers will feel a personal connection to each of my paintings and experience their own individual journey of interpretation.
