' Art is a form of magic designed as a mediator between
the strange hostile world and us.'
I'm Brenda and yes I'm still residing in my hometown, Chicago IL. As a retired beautician, I'm making a slight career change or better yet extending my knowledge of cosmetology into the field of art.
I acquired most of my training in the Chicago School System ( A Big Thank You). Since I have the time to develop my style and apply the techniques I have learned from various artists such as, Bob Ross a oil painter, Terry Madden a watercolorist, Sueellen Ross also a watercolorist, and Harley Brown a pastelist have inspired me to try and make a living as a professional artist.
By embracing the knowledge and techniques that these and other artists' have shared, I hope to acheive amazing results and responses to and from my works. Interpreting life isn't only how I see it, but how others see it. How life is, was or how it may become is this artist intent of expression, within boundaries.
My favorite Master Artists are Rockwell and Monet.
My interest lies using the medium Claybord. I have found that this type of medium gives me more ease when creating a work. I've used Scratchboard before and I'm reintroducing myself to it. I've viewed the works of other Scratchboard artists and it seems to promise a great respect and reward.
For my paintings Watercolor and Acrylic paints, for my drawings; Graphite, Color pencil, Conte pencil, Charcoal and Pastels.
This magic that I'm performing, may it bring the pleasure into your life as it does in mine.
