Artist Orange - Fine Artist
Artist Orange is who I have become. Corey R Jevne is my birth name and who I used to be.
I was creative at a very early age. I think the creativity started because I grew up finacially poor. When your financially poor you learn to do one of three things. Either you learn to beg, steal or create. I had chosen to create. Music was my first love. When I was a young boy my Grandmother had taught me how to play piano. At the age of 12 I had learned to play guitar by myself. And shortly after that I learned to play any other instrument I could get my hands on. Through out my teen years and shortly after that. Many had expected me to go to the next level. But I never executed it. I had lost my heart for it. After that, I had imprisoned my creative heart. Almost a decade had passed. During that time I had done nothing creative. Those were very dark days.
The year 2000 I had returned a Christmas gift and used the money to get my first digital camera. It didn't even have a megapixel or a view screen. But none the less it created a spark within myself. Shortly after that I had purchased my first point and shoot. It had a whopping 2 megapixels. Then the sparks began to fly. A year later I had bought my first 35 mm SLR. And then the sparks turned into a flame. But shortly after that. Life had thrown some major curve balls my way. Sending my creative heart back into imprisionment.
May 2005 I had purchased my first digital SLR. But I did not go back to doing art at that time. Instead I had started doing wedding and portrait photography. After a while I had naturally became bored with this. To the point that I started to hate photography. So before that happened. I quit.
January 2009 I had dusted off the camera and started to create again. The flame within myself had reappeared. After undying support from a very close friend. I had done my first art show later that year in October of 2009. The flame had become a small fire. March of 2010 I had entered in a art competition for the very first time. And ended up winning an honorable mention. The small fire had become much larger. That whole summer I had done many shows. Later that fall, one of the area Mayo Clinics had put one of my works on permanent display. That December I was approached and asked to be part of the committee for a local art show called 'The Banbury Art Crawl'. Which was to take place in February of 2011. The artists on this committee were not just any artists. Most of them are nationally known. And few of them are internationally know. A little over a year and half before this. None of them knew who I was. Now I was sitting at a large table with all of them. And giving them my input.???
Now the large fire is out of control! And before the art crawl show I had did my first solo art show. And after the art crawl show. I had done my second solo art show. It was at this time I had realized that man named Corey R. Jevne. Who's creative heart that was constantly imprisoned, was no more. I was now offically forged into Artist Orange. And as Artist Orange. My creative heart will never ever be imprisoned.
Now that you know my story. Here is some more information I would like to share. Even though photography is what brought me to the art world. I would like to let you know I am also about to add sculpture to the mix. And hopefully within the next year. I will also start to add jewelry to the mix as well.
Now I would like thank anyone and everyone who stops by here and takes a peak. Have a blessed day! =)
Always Sincere,
Artist Orange
