Julia Blackler, Painting, New Zealand. I have been painting since 1975. I use Oil, Pastel, Acrylic and Watercolour. It could be representational or semi abstract. Awards - B.O.P. Art Societies Exhibition, Katikati, Watercolour, 1994. Edgewater Feature Panels Project 1995. These are Mosaic Pavement Panels in downtown Tauranga. Many panels including mine are still to be made. The designs are in storage at the B.O.P. Council Offices. First place in the Poster Art Award with Peoples of the Pacific section, 1995. Waihi Summer Festival. I have work in private collections in Canada, England, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland as well as New Zealand. I have experience in Porcelain Art, Folk Art and Stained Glass - Lead lighting. In 1975 started with drawing classes at Te Awamutu College, then 7 months with Heinz Boenke, Workshops with Joan Fear, Tony Lewis, De Vella Gore and others. Have exhibited in Te Awamutu, Whitianga, Pukekohe, Tauranga, Taupo, Waihi, Paeroa, Waikino, Rotorua, Ngongataha and Katikati. All my work is with acid free materials and the stretched canvases are Museum brand.
