I was born on October 20th in 1940, in Kochi, Japan. I began to draw a picture when I was five years old. I stayed in Nagasaki till I graduated from the high school and entered English Literature Department of Doshisha University in Kyoto. I graduated from it in 1965, and got a job as an English teacher of Osaka municipal high school. In 2000, I retired from the job and became free. After the retirement I have enough free time to draw or paint till today. I used to paint abstract, but now concrete (landscape) mainly.
I've never attended any art school, and I learned art for myself. I've tried many kinds of art styles, like Unkiyo-e, Sumi-e, Hari-e, Kakejiku, pencil, pen & ink, drawing, painting, etc. I'm not a genius, but a man of efforts. I still practice on sketchbooks everyday. Hope you'll enjoy my work.
