RAW DENVER PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2012!!!!!
As a child, I discovered my passion for photography through my dad. He gave me my first camera, a kodak 110, Suddenly, like dorothy stepping into oz, my world went from black and white to color.
However, I could never escape from 'kansas', though I dream in color, I always see things in black and white. There is something magical about the shadows and highlights that form a black and white image. It allows the viewer to make up his own mind... to fill in the blanks.
I choose photography because throughout my long lifetimes (and I feel I have lived many) it is the one thing that I remain passionate about. It is how I escape.
The human body is truly the most amazing work of art ever created. All of the interior, blood and bones, working together and then covered in such a perfect and beautiful shell. I wanted to create works of art using the body, the skin, the dark and the light. I love the way the light plays against the textures and lines of the body. It inspires me and makes me feel alive.
