Ma recherche consiste à mettre la vie en images et la fragmenter en morceaux ou en petits espaces. J’aime créer des moments photographiques avec le temps qui passe. Dans mes œuvres, on peut percevoir une recherche de l’illusion, portée par le vraisemblable et le possible, avec parfois le surréalisme qui se pointe.
Pour chaque image, je m’efforce d’exprimer sa polysémie, en particulier par des citations réciproques entre la forme et le fond. C’est l’image elle-même, son sujet et sa lumière qui dicte sa composition sur capteur numérique ou sur papier.
Je suis fasciné par la relativité. La rencontre d’un temps et d’un espace est porteuse d’un moment de vie. Avec l’aspect aléatoire de ces rencontres et l’éventail infini des possibles, la magie peut opérer. Ce qui permet d’en saisir parfois l’essence fugace, c’est la photographie, ce moyen unique de capter un temps et un lieu singuliers, s’amalgamant pour donner à voir la vie sur pause, par brides.
L’impact recherché peut demander un agrandissement suffisant pour pénétrer l’image, pas seulement avec les yeux, mais avec tout le corps, physiquement circonscrit dans l’œuvre! On aime circuler dans l’image... et même en faire partie.
Depuis que j’ai découvert la photographie, je travaille à exploiter ses possibilités lumineuses, son contraste particulier, sa transparence et le curieux phénomène d’inversion qui lui est propre.
