Where do I begin... I got in trouble in Kindergarten because I wouldn't stop doodling on the math sheet. I suppose this was my start. I continued on and art became almost an obsession for a while as I thought I had create artwork on all sheets of a 3 foot pile of printer paper before I died. Needless to say, I'm still alive and the stack has been gone for a while (of which I never got through). High school was uneventful as I took a few bits and pieces and tried to apply them to my study and met a great artist friend, but a teacher who played favorites burned my desire to keep going. I ended up in Kansas with my husband in 2005, where I joined a local art group of all different ages and levels. Studying under a teacher fresh out of college named Ben, my desire blossomed again and the spark was renewed. This is where my first art show was held.
Now almost 8 years later, I've become a better painter than ever according to my standards (which are quite high) and loving every minute. In counting I have 8 half done projects on my wall. They are calling for inspiration and motivation. I have also finished a few pieces that I get rave reviews on all the time. I have not found my niche yet. I keep thinking of things I love, but I have a need for a constant changing subject matter. It makes it difficult to lay a foundation.
I now also head up, with 2 others, a non-profit organization called A.F.C. (Art For Charity) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are in the business of Art Show fund raisers and the funds to go to charities in our local area.
Call me for special orders as I love a good challenge. Otherwise feel free to contact me on FAA. Thanks for reading.
