Hi, my name is Alissa. I am a diversified self taught artist, experienced in various mixed media, multi- dimensional style art. I thrive on diversity; one of my favorite ways to paint is from memory, I like to see where it goes as it becomes unique, but I do research subjects as needed. A digital pen is undeniably different from traditional methods of art, some techniques take longer to achieve while others happen quickly. My interest include a variety of fine and visual art genres or categories, not in any particular order: Contemporary, Abstract, Photography, Graphic, Generative, Fractal, Realism, Illustration, Modern, Geometric, Folk, Word Art, and some Cartoons with exciting vibrant colors to calm subdued hues. I create art with, traditional methods, digital photography, and digital pen including virtual canvas, paint, markers, pens, pencils, brushes, and digital methods such as spraying and blending. A digital format or traditional art is also available, please contact me for details or to inquire about exclusive, custom designs (traditional or digital).
If you’re still here, thank you for taking time to read about me. I hope you’ll find something meaningful to purchase for yourself or for someone you love…
I have always enjoyed creating for others, especially when I see it makes someone happy. I began painting for a living when I owned a painting company back in 1995 through 2000 in Ocala, Florida. I was also a member of Fine Arts on Broadway, a local gallery and a place for artist to meet weekly to demonstrate and talk about their art. While I managed my company, I created logos, business cards, signs, works on canvas, murals, holiday window paintings, and I specialized in faux applications; I also provided a few part time jobs to fellow artist and general painting sub contractors for general residential and commercial painting because I was also busy with school and working at my first career (master hair colorist) for 25 years. I was extremely blessed to have Sherwin Williams, and Porter Paints recommend me to so many dear clients. One of the biggest installations I created was a gift to an Ocala Elementary School, my drafting teacher at the time asked if I would volunteer my work; I accepted. I painted over 400 feet by the span of two driveways, of numerous types of outdoor hopscotch: spiral, arched, square, and hangman including other graphics that utilized a lot of math and asphalt paint. Graphs were painted over driveways and sidewalk areas that provided lots of fun, outdoor activities for children at recess. It was an incredible experience while I had so many people from the community to help me pull if off! Shortly after being recognized for my art at the school, I was commissioned to create an outdoor mural for a daycare center that led to a newspaper interview. My work created many word of mouth clients; eventually I needed a rest, and retired from painting large scale projects. I continued creating canvas art while doing hair until 2008 when I moved back to my native, Southern California. I am currently focusing more on digital print art, creative cooking, and learning new Windows OS.
