Alfredo Gonzalez was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands (Spain). Early in life he started in drawing and painting and later majored in fine arts at the University of La Laguna (Tenerife, Spain), where he also did a doctorate curriculum in Computer Graphics and Photography. He has since participated in workshops, seminars, and conferences about digital photography and digital procedures. For the two-year period 1994-95 he adquired a postgraduate research grant in the Department of Fine Arts of La Laguna University to work on his doctoral thesis entitled 'Integration of Analog and Digital Processes in the Field of Photographic Creation'. Since then he has been involved in many personal artistic paint, photo and video projects that reflect his continuing interest in pictorial art and creative expression with digital tools. His work has been exhibited in galleries in Spain, Reims (France) and New York (USA).
The concept of his work is the try to express how certain perceptions affect our memories, in a kind of sublimation of the experience: that timeless moments that slip between our daily destinations, filtering through our souls and dissolving on our past to resurface as breaking memories which do not distinguish between dreams treated as realities or realities treated as dreams.
