Alex Loza

Peruvian realist artist currently living in Chattanooga, TN. Alex is both trained in and an advocate of the Atelier Method which emphasizes in classical drawing and painting techniques. His 10+ years of experience serving numerous clients in the U.S. and internationally has motivated him to start the Loza Studio & Atelier.

In 1996, Loza attended Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI. where he met autodidactic, Master Artist Harry Ahn and took medical anatomy classes with Professor John Banks from the Physical Therapy Deptartment. Wanting to advance his technique and knowledge on life drawing and painting, Loza attended Notre Dame University's open studio program. After three years of intense training with Mr. Ahn who encouraged Loza to continue his classical training at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, IL. There he graduated with his BFA in 2001.

Loza has taught after-school art classes through Chicago Public schools, as well as private art lessons and community workshops. Recently, Loza joined the team of instructors at Art Creations. There he will be offering academic art training such as drawing fundamentals for children and adults, academic figure drawing, classical portrait drawing, anatomy and écorché.
