Aixa Salazar - Fine Artist
Aixa Salazar was born and raised in the colonial city of Puebla, Mexico. Coming from a family with generations of successful artists, she was exposed to different medians and styles of art throughout her childhood.
Continuing on her creative path, she earned a Degree in Art at the Instituto de Artes Visuales in Puebla. During her college studies she was awarded a position to teach art appreciation and oil painting courses to adults who also possess a raw talent in art.
Setting her sights on California she embarked on a quest that took her from Puebla, Mexico to San Diego to Los Angeles. While in San Diego she partnered with a local sculptor and found success in designing prototypes for the decorative home accessories industry.
Since arriving in Los Angeles in 2004, she has stayed busy working on several commissioned paintings for Private Collectors as well as her own collection. In 2007, she was chosen to display some of her work for an exhibition at the Mexican Consulate Los Angeles and then soon after that at the Asto Museum of Art. During this period she accepted a contract with a busy art publishing firm to paint mostly botanical art for the home furnishings industry. While in constant demand during her term there, she created more than 150 paintings which were mass produced and framed-to-sell in major retail stores nationwide.
In 2010, Aixa became much more involved in the local art industry and is now a member of the 'LA Art Lab' group. www.laartlab.org. The group held a group show in February 2011 and is working on more group shows for the summer. With Aixa becoming more involved in local art events she is experiencing very positive reviews and quickly gaining more public exposure.
With painting and creating being her first passion, she also shares a deep passion restoring works of art created in several different types of medium. To represent that passion she went into a partnership with an art restoration business specializing in fine art restoration.
