Hi, I am Donna E Dixon, an artist emerging. I started out in North Georgia, ended up in Austin, Texas and back. I have great passion for painting, and appreciate artwork in many forms. A perfect day to me would be being in the companty of other artists and surrounded by art works. I am a retired Medical Lab Tech, albeit an early retirement.
My earlier years have been self-taught, and that is still true today. I want to create art that the viewer will feel warmth, appreciation and inspired within themselves. I want to bring beauty into the world (or at least the room).
I am honored to say my work has appeared at exhibits both national and international including many private collections. Recently, I have had work shown at several art for charity shows.
You may have seen some of my work in the Universal Pictures comedy movie, 'Wanderlust', directed by David Wain & Judd Apatow.
The movie was filmed in Clarkesville, GA and was released in Feb. 2012. The painting entitled, 'Chickadees', appears in a rented bedroom. The farm is thought, by the characters, to be a Bed and Breakfast Inn.
I am pleased to have licensed some of my work-and this project is currently underway, so please stay tuned for more information.
I love living in Clayton, GA USA--which is surrounded by the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains. I spend most of my time painting and enjoying my adopted pets. I am passionate about being a Human and Animal Rights activist also. Some of my favorite activist charities are Elephant Nature Park, Break the Chain, Animal Defenders International, Art Division, 3Strands Global,Thrive Rescue Home and Animals Asia.
I hope you will enjoy a stroll through my ever growing collection of artworks and return often or anytime.
