Sculptures
This gallery contains images of famous sculptures, photographed primarily at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, or an affiliated museum, such as the Corcoran Gallery of Art. The photographs are named and alphabetized in one of two ways. For most of the photographs, the artist's name precedes the name of the artwork, such as "Rodin's The Thinker (Le Penseur)" or "Degas' Little Dancer Aged Fourteen". If the sculpture is a bust of a famous person, the name of the individual is first in the title, followed by the sculptor's name, such as "George Washington by Horatio Greenough" and "Thomas Jefferson by Jean-Antoine Houdon". With this system of naming and sorting, you should be able to go directly to the work of a particular artist, or to busts of famous people like Washington and Jefferson.
