About the Artist Gunter Kreil I�ve been a painter all my life as long as I can remember. I was born in 1939 in Hamburg, Germany. When I was 20, I decided to immigrate to Australia since that country intrigued me with its open spaces kindling my interest in landscape painting. My paintings, while in Australia gave me the opportunity to explore the desert and get a feel for the native flavor of its people. While there, for two and a half years, the south sea islands of the Pacific became a fixation in my mind. My first stop was Tahiti with its lush and colorful scenery and the genuine friendliness of its people.
