Artist's Description
I did a number of paintings in watercolor of this very quaint storybook-like Bed & Breakfast in Carmel, California. I found this larg earthen urn that was planted with blooming color flowers. I had to work extra careful to preserve the shadow details along with the highlights from the morning sun that was streaming into the garden courtyard.

I am happy that I made it to the top of your list. Thank you.
Randy Rosenberger
Just a beautiful piece of art work, David! Love the coloring of the vase and how it seems to stem outward onto the ongoing walkway! The flowers are gorgeous too, with the lattice and the building in the background! Wow! Superbly done on this watercolor! If I didn't know, it looks like an excellent photo! Great job on displaying your talents here, David!
David Lloyd Glover replied:
Randy, I appreciate that you took notice of this painting. The pottery urn was a particular challenge and the deep purple petunias gave me some trouble. Hard color to capture.
Warren Thompson
Such great detail and color.
David Lloyd Glover replied:
Thanks Warren for noticing.

Yes, this is a watercolor. I painted the original in 1988. I don't know if this Bed & Breakfast Inn located in Carmel still exists today but this is how it looked back then.
