Carribean Crisis in October 1962 (oil on canvas) by Pechatin, Valentin Alexandrovich (b.1920) (info.: Operation Kama formed part of the Cold War crisis between the USA and the USSR in the Carribean during the early 1960s; It was designed to forward-base seven Soviet ballistic missile submarines in Mariel, Cuba; The operation failed due to equipment failures and the skilled harassment of US destroyers)
