This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

I am very pleased with the quality of the product, and the gift recipient loved it and brought them to tears as it was a sentimental gift.

About Michel Verhoef
Photography is a way of expression for me. This was especially when I discovered digital photography and the possibility of being in control of the whole process, from pressing the shutter to printing. Than i also discovered that photography is more than just pressing the shutter; it also shows ones own, more personal, view on the world. There are so many stories that can be told in one image, and to me the best stories are just out there on the street, just waiting to be captured. In my photography I want to strive for a personal style, preferably more than a signature.but a permanent memory of the image in the viewers mind :) My gear: Nikon COPYRIGHT NOTICE All images in this gallery are the original...

Dagmar Helbig
Georgia's Art Brush
I grew up very poor in the late 60s to 1980s in Texas USA. We were made fun of because of our old clothing and how we lived compared to the well to do kids. This photo brings back all those memories, but they weren't all sad memories, being poor I feel now, was actually a good thing for me..Those who were richer than us back then, are now so troubled and unhappy, yet we are not...So, I"m not saying it was all fun and games being poor, no, it was not fun at all, but, compared to now, to those who grew up rich, I think we were the rich ones!
Michel Verhoef replied:
Well spoken Georgia....it happened to me too :)) it was a time we all played outside on the street...now...I too play outside on the street but now with ...a...camera...lol.:)))
Jan Matson

A perfect black&white: crisp, clear, clean .... watching the two little girls "chatting" with one another brings me a smile {or maybe ... they're having a "dialogue" about the rules of the game they're playing ... look at their stances ... ; or ....} ; I love these old narrow streets & the laundry swinging overhead ... this is Community, and the Spirit Of . A gem, Michel {another one}:))
Michel Verhoef replied:
Ha...the big game for this one is to guess how many people there are in this picture...lol...do you know the answer ?...miss Eagle-eye ?...thanks once more for such amazing generosity of words !!

Another of your fantastic shots... Brings me to my childhood, when we played in the street in summertime and many neighbors were sat at their houses' doors... Where was it taken? just for curiosity...
