About Doug Mathewson
I grew up in a family of artists. I've been playing music, writing songs and photographing anything and everything from an early age. I was an art major but found stretching and gessoing canvas too time consuming. In addition walking across a windy canvas with a large painting - well you get the idea. I tried painting on masonite with knives and acrylics to be less tedious. I always fell back on photography as my main medium. I still attend life drawing groups to keep my skills. Today’s digital photography makes everything quicker, allowing instant corrections. The number of shots are limited only by the size of the SD card and hard drive.
