Local color is an artist term for describing the color of something. For example the local color of grass is green. I enjoy describing color in the broken color of the light spectrum. This is how I see. This particular field in Eklutna Flats, Alaska is a favored painting spot. The painting describes the full spectum of how I see Alaska in the height of its glory.

Israeli born, Talya Johnson is an impressionist artist working in Salem, Oregon. She's influenced by the light, color and brushwork of the impressionists; as well as the depth, luminosity and draftsmanship of the old masters and academic artists.
