A glorious pileated woodpecker ... who led me on quite the chase. First of what will probably be several images of him and his mate. Image taken in my backyard in Maryland, USA, with the Nikon D300 and the 150-500mm Sigma lens December 3, 2011.
Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Ran back inside, got the camera, changed the lens and ran back out ... would up climbing the huge hill in the back ... through the broken rocks, brambles, sticker bushes, in heels mind you, and yes, I did fall over once, lol .. but I got him!!!!!! By gum!!!!
