Hello my name is Craig Shanti Mackinnon. Friends call me Shanti.I grew up in The U.S., mostly in massachusetts and Vermont. Now I live in hills north of Quebec city, surrounded by spruce trees and the sound of running water. My passion for painting began in 1988 in a milieu of meditation, silence and celebration at the Osho Meditation center in India. I participated in two 7 day painting intensives. I was hooked right away and declared myself an artist. I have taken several workshops and classes since then, but mostly I am self taught and have explored the medium for twenty years with a focus on the landscape. I paint landscapes because I love nature. I am especially attracted to wild uncivilizd places. It is there where I connect...
