Artist's Description
This watercolor was painted when we lived on Long Island. We used to take the ferry to Ocean Beach on Fire Island and the wagon parking is next to the ferry dock. No cars on Fire Island, just bikes and wagons to carry your supplies. All the wagons are so colorful hanging together- its one of the first sights after you get off the ferry. All the different sizes and shapes of wagons are definitely an interesting painting subject, as well as a fun place to visit!
About Sheryl Heatherly Hawkins
I am a California artist and I divide my painting time between watercolors and oils. My favorites are still life paintings, but I also enjoy beach and garden themes. Many of my paintings come from scenes in my own garden. I have loved all kinds of art for as long as I can remember, and started drawing and painting as a kid. I grew up with a very creative mom and that definitely inspired me to continue on and study art in college. I have a bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts from CSUFresno in California. I have been lucky to live on both coasts- California and Long Island, New York.
