Artist's Description
Erice is located on top of Mount Erice, at around 750 m above sea level, overlooking the city of Trapani.
There are two castles that remain in the city: Pepoli Castle, which dates from Saracen times, and the Venus Castle (which we see in the foreground of this picture), dating from the Norman period, built on top of the ancient Temple of Venus, where Venus Ericina was worshiped.
About Anik Messier
I'm a French speaking Canadian born in Sherbrooke, Québec, now established in England (Harlow, Essex). I started enjoying photography at a very young age (around 8 or 9 years old), watching my dad develop black & white shots in the basement, then I studied it in college. But I really got into it when I moved to England in 2005.
